Most of the swim field will be social/recreational swimmers. If you can swim the distance you have entered competently in the ocean, then you’ll be fine. See question below re cut off times.

I want to come but I'm a slower swimmer; are there cut off times I need to be aware of?

Everything is pretty relaxed in Fiji and so will we be, but if you’re still in the water swimming 45min after the start of the 1km and/or 2 hours after the start of the 3km we’ll need to give you a quick lift into our safety boat so you are nearer to the finish line to finish.

What on-water safety do you have for the swims?

We are working with Ian Muller from Fiji Surf and his fantastic team of qualified lifeguards. They know the Fijian waters well and will be keeping a watchful eye over you during your swims.

When is the balance of my Single or Duo Package due?

The date for final payment is 3 May 2023.

Can I wear my wetsuit?

Wetsuits are optional – but we strongly suggest you won’t need it. The water temperature averages a minimum of 24 degrees at this time of year. Please note that people wearing wetsuits will be excluded from the age group or overall competition but will receive a finisher’s medal.

What is the minimum age to take part in the event?

10 years for the 1km and 12 years for the 3km. All swimmers must be competent swimming their entered distance in the open water. Age is as at the start date of the event. Younger swimmers with exceptional ability may be accepted at the sole discretion of the Event Director Scott Rice.
